Thanks to all the devs! +minor question
Hi there all. I registered with driverheaven so I could give a big thank you to all the devs responsible for the kx drivers. I have an audigy2 and have suffered for a long time with the crackling, popping problem. I decided to remedy it today and came across the kx drivers in my quest. 5-10 minutes later I'm up and running and not a pop or crackle since. Truly superb.
If I have an criticism of the drivers at all it would be with kx manager, which isn't very intuitive, but on the other hand is very powerful. I can imagine people getting theirselves in a pickle with it if they weren't sure what they were doing. Anyhow, thanks very much for the drivers. keep up the good work! A minor problem has come up since I last posted this so I'm appending a question to my post. I'm getting a very slight but noticable stutter on mp3 and video playback now, kind of like the needle in a record player getting stuck for a split second. It seems random and I can't reproduce it. I have a reasonable hefty machine (athlon XP+2500, 1gig ram, Windows XP SP2, SB Audigy 2) so I tend to not think it's the load it's under. I also turned off any memory intensive programs to just test and still got the stuttering. I've ramped down sound acceleration in dxdiag and changed the playback device under the control panel to 4/5 (this stops surround sound doesn't it?). Is there anything else that could help? Cheers for your replies! Last edited by thelost; Mar 19, 2006 at 05:16 AM. Reason: minor question |
