I also have a SoundBlaster Live CT4780 sitting around

Bad news! Creative's web site refuses to acknowledge that CT4780 exists!
It don't like it when I type in "CT4780", it will say that it can't be found!

Will kxProject recognise CT4780?

I don't like the fact that Creative did that, but the SoundBlaster Live sound card was from a Dell Dimension PC.

The Soundblaster Live! Value OEM (CT4780) is on the supported by kX list

it should work with no problems

FYI, it seems to only appear in one place across the CL website. here

I have owned 2 different versions of the CT4780, both will work fine with kX or Creative drivers-(I suggest you go with the kX drivers, especially if you are thinking about recording).

One version of the CT4780 has an external digital output and the other doesn't but either will work.

Could you give the link to the Creative drivers to use, if someone wants to use the Creative drivers? Because the kxProject drivers may be causing crackling with some games.

unfortunately with most CL driver apps, they're so large they won't host them on their servers, you need the driver CD

Before you go back to Creative, I would suggest trying kX version 3534f and then report back here if the crackling is gone:

Uninstall the latest version of kX that you are using first.

Download 3534f
http://www.electricstart.de/index.htm

To download Creative drivers
http://soundblaster.com/language.asp...port/downloads
Follow the links until you choose Live!

Techworm: install kX-driver 3550. It works well with the CT4780.
