This is not a problem. My card is labeled CT4830 and kX identifies it as a CT4832.

Have you tried "Toggle 'Swap Front and Rear' Mode" on the Master Mixer to get the sound you want?

You are using the kX speaker test applet, and not some other "Speaker Test", right?

The green port is normally Analog Front, but with Toggle Swap Front and Rear mode checked, the rear channel will be sent to that port (i.e. checked means that analog front and rear are swapped).

What settings are you using in Surrounder (kX Speaker Setup applet)?
You need to set it to match your speaker setup (i.e. 5.1 with Surround ON, etc.). It sounds like you still have it set to 2.1 mode with Surround Off

but i only have 2 speakers , not 5.1 , i try every options in the "surround", but can not fix the problem.
if i off the surround, in the test applet, only two front speakers sounds, but it sounds like two rear speakers........

What do you mean when you say it sounds like two rear speakers? I do not know what you think rear speakers are supposed to sound like, with a statement like that. The speaker test applet plays the same sound for all the speakers. If you are talking about the sound quality, then maybe you need to add some EQ, etc, in the DSP.

For a 2.0 speaker setup, you should use one of the 2.0 presets of Surrounder, and set the Swap Front and Rear option appropriatley for whichever jack you connected the speakers to. With that particulair card, I think you will probably have better quality using the analog rear speaker jack, and using the Toggle Swap Front and Rear option.

may be i cant express myself clearly because i'm not a native english speaker……
i'm trying my best.
the first, it's Not about the quality of sounds ,like EQ or what. it is about directions.
second, i'll list my set, and the result.

with the "Toggle Swap Front and Rear" on , and the mode 2.1 with the "surround" on, run the test applet, the five result is: front left (sounds like rear left) ,front (sounds like rear), front right (sounds like rear right), rear left (sounds like front left), rear right (sounds like front right).

and if i untick the "Toggle Swap Front and Rear" and change to the green port, the sounds is like that too.

i also use my headphone, the problem cant be solved neither.

huuuu……did u ever heard this kind of problem? i am so puzzled……

Maddogg6 will become famous soon enoughMaddogg6 will become famous soon enough

First - are you using the default DSP config?
Have you added anything to the DSP?

Also...
In surrounder - do you have the 'Use Subwoofer Output' option checked?

Many 2.1 speakers - with a sub-woofer (or 'LFE') - is using its own built in cross-over, and using that option 'directs' low frequencies to the sub-woofer output of the sound card. Which may not be connected.

Is this the case?

Thats Ok, the confusing thing is when you say "sounds like". Can you clarify what you mean by that statement. Do you mean that no matter what settings you use (and no matter which speaker jack you connect to), all of the sounds are in the analog rear speaker jack only? How are you differentiating between Front and Rear sounds, when you have only two speakers? When using a 2.0/2.1 setting with Surround On/Copy, it is normal for all the sounds to be directed to one pair of speakers (front, but depends on the Toggle Swap Front and Rear option). So, your last test results are normal/correct, if your speakers are connected to analog rear.
