BSoD on Master Volume Change
This issue hasn't been fixed, for a very long time. I still use the kX drivers though.
Sometimes when changing the master volume value I get a BSoD associated with the kx.sys file. Usually happens when running a game or something that uses sound. Some regarded it as an error with programs using WDM/ASIO. Whatever. All users who reported this error said they were using a multimedia keyboard, and whenever they press the Volume Up/Down / Mute button they get a BSoD. Yes, I use one too and get this error. But I don't think it's related to the multimedia keyboard. Even when I change it in the mixer it happens. A user also reported this error (when using the mixer). They say the solution is to turn the "Multimedia keyboard enabled" option on, but it doesn't solve it. Users who tried it said it fixed it for them and come back a day later saying it didn't. That's because they didn't run a game/WDM program. So, can you guys fix this already? My specs: SB Live! 5.1 16-bit Intel P4 1.7GHz 384MB RDRAM 800MHz Intel D850GB Motherboard using kX 3538j. |
