Someone was working on a Linux kx-like project and if you search "Linux" in the forums you will eventually find the thread. There was a link to the project in the thread. I have not followed progress to see if it rolled ahead or died.
-------------EDIT--------------- Well I found the project that I was thinking of. No updates since 2004 and the author says Quote:
-------------------------------- Here is the Mac Kx project which as I understand has no affiliation with this kX project and Eugene Gavrilov knows about it and is not worried about the use of the name: http://homepage.mac.com/creativemail/MacKx/ Last edited by Doug W; Jun 21, 2006 at 09:56 PM. |

The last Alsa drivers I used started putting the ld10k1 stuff in. Not sure how far along they are with the 'user friendlienss' of it at this point though. But combine Alsa, Jack and some kernel hacking, you can have a pretty good Linux based sound studio.

I wonder why linux programmers don't wish to make the effects cross-platform and use similar to kX interface for plugins (yes, it should be possible to strip all MFC/GUI-stuff and use any 3-rd party cross-platform GUI library, for instance, juice or Qt)

dont know much about Qt, but i do use Qt interfaces and i'm sure the community is big. do you mean JUCE(raw material software)? if so, i've been playing around with that and think it would be quite cool to use it in linux. i've contacted the guy who made the linux port and unfortunately, havent heard back from him. i hope i can manage to get in touch soon. |
