Remote control & AC3 decoding

First thing I have to say is:
What a great driver including all the usable functions!
I use the drivers in combination with a HTPC (Home Entertainment PC) configuration. Therefore I use Girder to automate several functions in combination with a separate remote. I have two questions:

1. What I like is to control all the volume levels of the AC 3 output. Are there any API calls that I can use to implement this in girder (www.grider.nl)? Or any other way?

2. The built in AC3 Decoder works almost fine. Except when I FF or sometimes skip chapters in a playing DVD. The sound stays in some kind of a loop. I read that more people have the same problem but a solution or work around for this problem is never posted.

I search the whole forum and manual for an answer but I find nothing.

System Configuration:

Sound blaster live! player 5.1 bulk
kX Driver 5.10.0.3529
WinDVD

Thank you in advance!!

the levels of ac-3 output are tweaked only by the master volume via standard windows API

>> The built in AC3 Decoder works almost fine

skipping frames is a very serious bug that causes sync problems
the driver's decoding engine is unable to recover
we are currently working on this issue...

however, the new release (3530) will support WDM multichannel output, which is supported by most DVD players and will allow true 5.1 playback (software ac-3 decoding)
