to fix the no sound issue - plug your speakers into the rear output jack, or disable the swap front/rear option
as for returning to the stock drivers run the kX unistall program reboot to safe mode run driverheaven drivercleaner to remove all traces reboot install the CL drivers from the driver CD reboot download and install any necessary updates reboot and you're set

ok, so which colour is the rear output jack? And if that doesnt work... Where can I find the uninstaller, because it isnt in the add/remove program list. And I dont seem to have the default driver cd, so where could I find one for my soundblaster live!? And just to add, the computer i'm referring to isnt this computer, it doesn't have internet. Ok thank you.

The analog rear output is usually black. The kX installer is also the uninstaller.

http://www.soundblaster.com/language...port/downloads How did you get the kX drivers on your puter? But don't go to the Creative site, use the kX drivers, they make you smarter and keep you regular! |

Doug IIRC due to the massive size of the CL drifver bloatware, the CL website only has driver updates
you'll need to find your original cd, or an ISO hosted on the web i think

Ok so I figured out the jack plugged it in, and the sound is just completely awful. I used the surrounder effect and set it to 5.1 on my desktop stereo speakers, which helped, but it still doesn't sound right. Since I can't find my old driver c.d. I guess I'm stuck with the kx driver so now that I get sound how can I optimize it, because it's just bad sounding, I tested the sound by playing a c.d. on windows media player and I set the EQ a million different ways but still just no good, any suggestions?

Probably true dj. nick, I just use stereo speakers and have never really had problems with sound quality and kX. One thing you could do is look through the Preset exchange and find a setup that looks like it might work for you: http://my.kxproject.com Another option is to start with a very simple custom DSP, and just get decent 2 speaker sound and then start working to get your 5.1 setup. DSP guide (just to help you how to mess with the DSP): http://members.home.nl/nahutec/kxtutor/kxtutor.html Lex Nahumury's ProFX: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/effects-dsp/70261-new-profx-3538-update-incl-mx6-ac97.html |

THe first thing you might want to do is (with WMP Equalizer off) is adjust the reverb and chorus settings, as well as the timbre (bass and treble) settings (in the DSP window), to get it as close to what you like, and then play around with the WMP equalizer if necessary. You may also want to replace the timbre plugin with one of the other EQ plugins for more control.
