hi everybody,i'm new here^_^
after installing KX driver,i feel so excited that it enhanced my A4 card a lot. but...there is a problem... i want to connect my guitar and keyboard to the computer at the same time, and output them to different ports(now i have 3 output lines, one to the box,one to headphone, one to...nothing,but being ready for an external guitar FX adapter or AMP. i used two DSP plugings called "src"(found in ProFX),select one as "mic" and one as "Line in" but i found it impossible to select them different---they always keep the same! { suppose i have src1 and src2,after i select src1 as Mic,src2 turns to Mic too, nomatter what you want it to be } i uploaded the solution image, hoping somebody can help me. thanks for any suggestions! PS:sorry for my poor English...... |

it seems that i haven't explain it clearly..
... i just want to send mic to ASIO 0+1 and send Line In to ASIO 2+3,but i found it impossible in my ability. are the signal mixed before it reached the digital port(is it mixed in AC97?) i can seperately hear either mic or Line, then why can't i listen to them at a same time in different channels>? confusing...... |

You can only use one AC97 source at a time, or a mix of them. However, if you download the latest version of ProFX, and if your card supports the UDA option, then you can select one source via AC97 and the other via UDA using the ProFX : ADC plugin.

hi Russ!
thanks for your suggestion...but...what is UDA?(sorry,i'm really a newbie in KX area...) i'm using an Audigy4...it works as A2,with the outputs re-arranged. if possible, what type of signal does "UDA" accept? after i go back home i'll check it out... |

UDA is a secondary codec on some (10k2) card models. I really do not know all the details about it, but, I guess AC97 sources can be re-routed through the UDA, so that two stereo sources can be used simultaneously. Lex would be the one to ask about that. From reading the forum, other people have successfully been able to use the UDA with ProFX : ADC, and the A4, so I think it should work for you, but I cannot be certain about all (kX compatable) A4 models. Give it a try and see. Search the forum for more info.

AFAIK - The UDA sort of parallels the ac97 - but can be used at same time as well - so - if your card has the UDA device - the profx/ADC plugin will show 2 set of outputs on it - the ac97 and the UDA (aka ac97.2 - in KX mixer). If your card doesnt have the UDA device recognized - only 1 set of outputs will show on the profx/ADC plugin. or at least thats a difference I see between my 2 cards (1 with and 1 without a UDA)
the UDA original intent Im pretty sure was to rout ac97 sources for 24/96 recording, while keeping some level of ac97/sblive compatibility. |
