Sound From All Zones
I have installed the latest drivers from the website and I am using them with an Audigy 2Z soundcard. The problem I am having is no matter what output I select from my software (Jrivers Media Center) the sound comes out of the "front" speaker outputs. I am showing kX wave 0/1, 4/5, 6/7, 8/9. I was wondering if maybe I am missing a setup piece somewhere. I am new to these drivers so I don't even know where to start.
Thanks. |

In the kX MASTER mixer-have you checked the Toggle 'Swap Front and Rear' mode Button?

Thanks for the replys.
I have the Swp Front & Rear Speakers box Checked. I have set the windows sound cp set at 7.1, I wasn't able to set the kx sounder to 7.1, as the highest it would go was 5.1 (where it is set at) Now I have sound for my "Front" speakers coming out of the 0/1 setting. The "Rear" is coming out of the 6/7 setting of the sounf card. Is this right? What is happening now is the "rear" (6/7) is working OK, but the sound that should be coming out of the "front" (0/1) is also coming out of the 6/7 setting as well as the 0/1 setting. Thanks again. |

the 0/1 is the surround output so sound sent to those outs will be on all outputs...fronts are 4/5 I am pretty sure...

Use one of Surrounder's "Direct Path" presets (and kX Wave 4/5, 6/7, and 8/9), or use a custom DSP.

Thanks. I stopped using the 0/1 zone and everything seems OK.

just remeber that if you set it to use 0/1 output then it will be the same song in ALL zones..that's kinda cool for a party..

All 4 wave devices can be used (somewhat) independantly with the right DSP config. (I say somewhat because of multi-channl audio, etc, that uses multiple buses). |

Yeah, but with a stock/default config if you send a signal to 0/1 then it goes to surround sound..correct?..

When set to 5.1, there is some upmixing, but again, it depends on Surrounder's settings (i.e. LFE is not used at all unless the "Use Subwoofer output" option is checked/enabled, and even then it is not used with kX Wave 0/1 unless "Bass Redirection" is enabled (it is Direct Path, i.e. LFE output = LFE input)). I understand what you were getting at, but I do not think there is any Surrounder setting that sends kX Wave 0/1 to all outputs (Front and Rear yes, but not really with Center/LFE (at least not a copy of the same signal from kX Wave 0/1)). |
