Sb Live 4832 + Guitar Rig
I tried to help my friend to configure kx 3538k on Sb Live CT 4832 card to work with Guitar Rig 2.02 but I couldn't manage to make it work. There is no sound at all. Even when I connect the Peak meter to each pair of prolog inputs one by one in the DSP, it indicates nothing, no peak meter activity. But the guitar is connected to line in. So why isn't it indicated in the DSP in the peak meter although I can hear clean sound coming from speakers when the Guitar Rig is turned off? Could anyone tell me, please where to look for the signal coming into the DSP from the line in on the soundcard?

If you are using prolog, then make sure that:
The AC97 slider on the Ins and Outs page of kxmixer is not muted. The AC97 source on the AC97 page of kxmixer is set to Line In. The Analog Recording Gain slider on the AC97 page of kxmixer is not muted. Connect prolog to the ASIO inputs on epilog that you want to use (not to xrouting). |

Russ, thaks for your answer. Unfortunately, everything is adjusted in the way that You said, and it doesn't work. But there is one strange thing which I found in my DSP: about two months ago I installed 3538j and I tried to play Guitar Rig. The default DSP confguration didn't work with the Guitar Rig. Then, I found a hint given by You to another guy which goes:
Quote:
.Then I saved the DSP configuration and it still works on my computer after each disc C formatting. But I noticed that I can't load this preset on my friend's computer(probably becase of the different type of soundcard). So, I tried to do it manually following your instruction but... it didn't work on his computer Then I came back home, and what I found??? I found that I couldn't do it manually even on my own computer (it didn't work), although when I load it in the DSP as a ready preset, it works. The thing is that the previously saved preset is identical to the one which I create manually, but the first one works, the second one - doesn't. I really don't understand it. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks |

Are you getting the signal on the peak plugin, but not in Guitar Rig, or is it that you not getting the signal into the DSP at all?

You are connected to the Line In on the back on the card, right (i.e. not a Live! Drive or similair)?
Verify that the above mentioned sliders do not read "inf" (which would mean that they are muted). Try clicking on the Reset AC97 button on the AC97 page of kxmixer. |

I use line in and all the necessary sliders are adjusted. The reset 97 button doesn't help. I think that it is not going to be understood because that day I did it the same way and it worked and now it doesn't. The strangest thing is that the loaded (identical) preset works. Anyway, thanks for your attention Russ. Bye
