kX project status (Sep'2006)

hi there

recent news (please review previous project status, since there hasn't been many changes)
(UPDATED: 18, Sep'2006)

- I'm currently working on Vista support. this will involve several architectural changes
for instance, the driver will no longer support 'kX0' and 'kX1' volume sliders
please let me know if this feature is really necessary for you

- I will probably start working on x64 version as soon as I get the new PC (might take ~one month)

- 3538l introduced new ASIO code

- more kx addon- and kxskin-related changes

=====
- do you know of any critical driver issues in 3538k or 3538l?

I'm currently aware of several cosmetic issues, for instance:
* kxmixer/dsp/.. won't restore from minimized state when re-launched -- FIXED (3538l)
* several applets fail to re-draw background skin if re-launched twice -- FIXED (3538l)

- a2zsnb and (probably?) a2value do not support p16v properly (please check)
- a2zsnb does not support analog inputs

=====
can someone summarize all existing plugins/addons/utilities for the kX Driver in a single post? at the moment I'm aware of this link: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/announcement.php?f=74&a=18 with links to redocneKx, UFX, ProFX, however, I think there were some additional projects as well... for instance, DSP-based synth effects etc.

E.

There was bug I reported for 3538j, it's still there in 3538k (I think).
Please take a look at this bug report : DSP bug in 3538j with plugin bypass activated

I am really looking forward to the new Vista driver. I have a 64bit RC1 version and it looks pretty sleek, but I (and probably many others) can't get my Soundblaster Audigy I. to work... I use kX in XP and it is just great...

Hey, i just installed vista onto my computer and your drivers are the only ones that work on my sound card, i use the Sound-blaster live emu10k1 sound card. could i get an ETA on your drivers for vista, or if you know of other drivers that would work for me i would greatly apreciate it. Thanx

I have a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 digital and Windows Vista.

Your drivers work nicely but the mixer does not so i cant configure the card at all. Is there going to be a mixer update any time soon?

Thanks.

kx0 needed

It is necessary!! I cannot access the Line In fader from Dscaler...I cannot control it from within any capture application!!! Is there a workaround...or do I have to stick to the k version?

just had to uninstall the kx-drivers on my laptop with the audigy2zsnotebook after a few major failures.

sometimes after just adding an effect or rearanging the dsp window, when i change a track in winamp the sound is gone. quite weird when i also mention that unless i don't change the track or stop it but just let it play everything is fine...

the only way to get rid of this afterwards is restoring all defaults and reseting my pc.

also - i have no idea if other users had the same problem but sometimes the sound stopped and an awful high-energy sound (i guess around 2000-4000khz) came through all the outputs nearly blasting my headphones (not meantioning my ears).

so i just want to warn a2zsnb users to keep their volume down before they do any changes in the dsp window.

I get this error whenever I run the mixer:

http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/9086/kxdl9.gif

I do get sound out of the speakers though. But only in stereo.

The configure part of control panel/sound will only let me select mono or stereo. I cannot select 5.1 whatever I try. I figured the mixer would let me.

I have the same problem as quoted above... the kxmixer does not open at all... Just the following error
Error Initializing your Audio Card
Please Reinstall drivers
If you haven't rebooted after setup - please reboot now.
If kX Setup is currently in progress - ignore this message.
I have Vista RTM and Soundblaster Live 5.1. I have tried reinstalling and rebooting with no luck.

OT:
Is there ANY "x64 ready" audio production software? 'Cause kX's main target group is "musicians".
If there is not too many, and too good yet - then we are not in such big hurry

Least Cakewalk Sonar does have x64 version (IIRC, Sonar 5-->). Maybe it's not good enough software for SB card + kX 'musicians'

for me ASIO never worked fine in 3538l. Its crashing my computer or its skiping the sound, or looks working but no sound.

i've tried to discribe everything here.

What’s the status of “Line-in on the A2ZS Notebook”? I really need this so I'm willing to donate allot $ if the A2ZSN-line-in-problem is moved up on the "priority list" and solved.
