Calibration with 24bit, Audigy2

hi!
I'm using a setup with an Audigy2 ZS and 5.1 Speakers.
I'd like to play my music with 24bit from foobar2k.
Well, this is very easy at first, but then comes my problem: I'm sitting rather in one corner of my room, but since I'd like to have my room "filled" with music I've got each speaker in it's owner corner. This results in some calibration beeing needed - otherwise the stereo image is completely destroyed, not to speak of surround balance. I can't fix this by moving the speakers.

So now my question is: How can I use 24bit output, calibrated. As far as I have understood from the p16v page, I have to use the HQ device to output 24bit sound (I can't output surround sound to the 0/1 device from foobar after all oO). What I did not understand:
- How can I stop the p16v device from sending any output to my speakers?
- When sending sound from the p16v device throught the system - will it still end up with 24bit at the soundcard output?

This is the only reason I switched from the Creative Drivers - they start doing lots of shit (adding noise, outputting nothing but noice, ignoring calibration etc.) randomly when using 24bit output.

Thanks in advance for your help

All right - figured out that I actually had an old driver version (the one from the website) - so it's easy to stop output .
Just leaves the questen if the DSP processing can handle the 24bit.

So there is definitely no way to calibrate 24bit output via kX?

I am not sure, but you might be able to do it (partially) at the codec level using kxctrl. Your best bet is probably to do it in software.

Like w/ THX panel (original software). Perhaps some of those kX plugin developers prepares one w/ same functionality.

Until that, here is a possible (software wise) solution you can use w/ kX for you;

http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=1921

You can change those EQs mentioned on method to a mixer plugin like this DIAPASON :

Split the output from StreamBoy (inside eXT) into 2 mono channels and then 'wire' lefts and rights to the mixer mono channels 1-8 (lefts to odd and rights to even channel numbers) ..., activate the mixer and set levels for each channel ...

Here is a picture showing, how it should look like:

By double-clicking the Mixer icon, you get plug-in interface opened --> set levels etc. on left side of the "mixing table" (those 8 right channels are stereo)

If those channels becomes mixed in DIAPASON, you need to use some other VST plug-ins in every mono channel instead. Maybe - Toute seule - from same devloper (you need to split mono).

Well, there is a new plugin from Sonalkis which you can use too. Method is still the same (foobar --> streamboy --> eXT --> n x FreeG stero --> ...):

You can DL the FreeG plugin from - http://www.sonalksis.com/index.php?section_id=99
