can you control the KX-mixer with MIDI?

...if not - does anyone know any apps that allow control of windows mixer (or just whatever you set it up to) - through MIDI control?

Using kX Automation, you can control most plugins, and since much of kxmixer's functionality is done through plugins, you can therefore control some aspects of kxmixer using kX Automation.

Google doesnt seem to show anything on its first couple of pages:
'Windows mixer midi automation'

Hmm -Im suprised this hasnt been done before. Interesting.

It probably has - but had very few users - or net activity around it I suppose.

Yup - I guess this is yet another reason KX is so powerful... ?? its possble (easy) with KX.

Your eyes did not deceive you

can you control the KX-mixer with MIDI?
kX Mixer, yes... Windows mixer, no... not without kX.

<edit>
I should say that I do not know of any programs that allow you to control Windows mixer using midi, but of course it can be done.

So - to recap...

To control KX MIXER with midi - find 'KX Automation Guide' in the KX help file..

To control WINDOWS MIXER with midi - we dont know of existing software.

- but if you have a propensity to BASIC programming - I can say - FREEBASIC - is about the easiest way to program with NON-GUI related WINDOWS API (which is how you would access windows mixer and midi ports) apps.

XBasic Lite - I find the easiest to make GUI based apps - and also includes windows API - but I find a bit more cumbersome to program in - simply for the fact that GUI stuff needs more setup to do simple things.

It depends on WHAT you are 'automating' - with KX Automation - MIDI automates KX DSP plugin 'tweak' screen sliders and switches.

So - automating Epliogs 'Master Volume' slider Will definitly affect a game - as that 'master volume' slider of epilog affects all sounds.

This will vary greatly with how a DSP is configured. - And most all plugins are 'automatable'.

HTH
