I don't think that the inputs are working yet in the latest version of kX with the A2ZS notebook.

this is unfortunate ..
![]() anyway ... has anyone tested this card? does it have 2 stereo in 2 stereo out via asio? because i have seen only 2 jacks on the card and from pictures it seems there are 3 more cables via an adapter cable ... |

I'm also interested in this card for my notebook. I don't care about inputs. I just want to be able to use the same basic setup on my laptop as on my desktop so I can leave the laptop at the gig and work on tunes on my desktop and have them sound the same. The question is this: is the A2ZS Notebook a real piece of hardware or is it some hybrid were it's part hardware part softsynth. I have a soft synth that plays soundfonts but it's quirky. I looking for the rock solid stability of my Live 5.1 card.
Any thoughts? Thanks John |

A2nb
what i had tested, there are 2 (stereo) in and out but the in is only working on digital in (CD-SPDIF) and the out is only analog (digital out is not working at the moment, also there is also no AC97 codec working.)
maybe in the next version. regards,

IIRC, oly SW Synths available, also,

Digigram VXpocket 440/PCXpocket 440, E-MU 1616/1616M PCMCIA and RME CardBus Interface + Digiface (or Multiface and RPM) are the only CardBus devices w/ 4 or more analog I/Os onboard. Doesn't E-MU cards have ~same DSP onboard for HW effects that Audigy etc. uses? jiitee Last edited by jiiteepee; Nov 29, 2006 at 01:18 PM. |

Is it possible to use the internal soundcard on my laptop for line-in and map the sound to my SB A2ZS Notebook?

Actually there wouldn't be any mapping involved. You'd just choose the internal card as the recording driver and the a2zs as the playback driver.
Or did you mean map the internal card inputs through the KX drivers? |

Kind of, I would like to connect analog audio to internal soundcard line-in and listen to it on my A2ZS Notebook. Is it possible or do I have to get an "analog-to-optical spdif" converter?

At this point you'd need a converter. I have a used Extigy that I'm thinking abt doing the same thing. Or you could just use the Creative drivers for now.

I need a little help. On another forum "Band in the box" there is continued discussion abt the best sound card for a laptop. Well obviously I say A2ZS note book as I can use KX drivers and soundfonts. The response is always"why not just use a software soundfont player like SFZ or SYNTHFONT as the A2ZS notebook uses a software synth for its soundfont engine. All of the KX features asidelet me ask this question that is always asked.
What role does the DSP chip on the A2ZS notebook play in regards to the soundfont engine? Thanks John |

under kX, SoundFont playback on ZSNB is purely hardware based.
under manufacturer drivers, it is purely software. |
