Can sub out be re-routed on Live! Value
I have an OEM CT4831 (10k1) Soundblaster Live! Value that came with an old Gateway. Currently using the KX drivers to switch between headphones and PC speakers -- great feature! But I'm curious whether it's possible to route the subwoofer output to one of my remaining ports (mic or line in). Unlike the Live! the value does not have a dedicated sub/center jack.
Thanks in advance. Last edited by sensibull; Dec 2, 2006 at 09:32 PM. |

No - if the connector is an input - it cant be used as an output.
Sorry, your stuck with what 4 outputs unless you get digital speakers. You could use the analog front as sub/center - and *maybe* (?? available??) get some digital SPDIF front speakers and connect to the digital output you *should* have on the back of your card.. ?? ps. my 4832 - Live Value OEM - is not 5.1, I suspect neither is your 4841 - so its not a 'value' thing - its the '5.1' thing. But I DO have the digital SPDIF output. This may not be true with ALL sound cards - but AFAIK - the SBLives cant use an input as an output of vice-versa. |
