How can I switch between SB Live and on board hardware?
I'm running the latest Kx drivers for my SB Live Platinum which is usually all I need.
However I found myself tonight wanting to switch to my motherboard's on board sound just so I could use my case's front panel mini jacks for mic and headphones to do some video conferencing. Is there an easy way to switch between my SB Live and my on board sound hardware? I know I should know how to do this, but somehow it's escaping me. |

You would need to disable your sound card in Device Manager and then enable your onboard sound in the system(MotherBoard) BIOS and then install the drivers for it.

It should just be a matter of installing the drivers for both, and choosing which one you want to use in the Control Panel, etc.

Russ is correct i'm running 4 soundcards atm, and his method works fine - although with some video conferencing programs you won't even need to access the control panel, the applications should have an option within their own settings to choose which soundcard to use
