I have found a software that lets you fully program your remote control!!!

Hey guys,

I've been posting in the forum about support for the remote control (live drive IR) in KX drivers. I've found a software which lets you fully program your remote control. You can assign the buttons to do whatever you want in any windows application. Head to http://www.mediatexx.com/ to get to know the Uice. The only downside is that it's not free and costs US$20,00... But it works freely for 30 days so you can try it out. (I sound like an advertiser...)

help with that problem

first of all sorry for my poor english

well i´m trying to help someone writing a nice post about a half hour or so, but now i loose all of that and have to start again, this explanation will be shorter that the first one

first step - download the program that is going to help us at this url --> http://www.girder.nl/downloadn.php?Link=294 , remember the location where you are saving the file, once finished install the program.

second step - download the plugin for this application at this url --> http://www.girder.nl/downloadn.php?Link=396 , extract the MidiInSysEx.dll to the girder - plugins directory.

third step - start girder go to file - settings - plugins and set to active the MIDI sysex plugin

final step - start to making commands and looks that you can do ANYTHING with your remote control of your sb live platinum

Greetings from spain and sorry for my poor english again...

Alex

Good! but how does it works

I did all the installation and Girder seems that is working fine. But I don't know how to assign the buttons of the audigy's remote control.

Ok i supose that u have the plug-in Midi Sysex activated (if nota download it and activate it on settings/plugins).

Then right button on your mouse and select "add command", after created click on "learn event" and press a button of your creative remote control, then select some action to the command you had created.

I hope i did help you, there is a fantastic guide here to how start using the program --> http://www.girder.nl/help/gettingstarted/index.php

Sorry for my poor english

Thanks!

Thank you Caine, now I'll try to assign everything. But I dont know if I get through. Did you use it with Audigy platinum and maybe have a "ready to use" girder setup??? It would be great, though I understand that it depends on what programmes I'm using, or is it wrong?

UICE is a lot more user friendlier when compared to girder.

Big Grin

OK, the kx group may have not the time and money to afford designing a fully working remote conrol (YET) or it is not in it's priorities, but some powerfull users could help here offering some presets for girder I suppose

I found that uICE is a lot more user friendly than girder but girder has a lot of "dynamics" as well. The problem is for "us" the lite users that don't have the knowledge or the time to set the buttons of an IR.

Caine I read the guide for girder but I don't think it did help a lot, a wizard style could be more helpfull

Anyone that could help???
I think I'm asking to much...
