KX drivers don't work for me!
Sorry, guys, but the KX drivers didn't work well for me at all.
1) KX did not ID my EMU APS card properly and never had any audio output. This does appear to be a problem with the APS card as the Emu drivers don't load easily, have to be forced from the device manager. 2) Even after uninstalling the KX drivers, and deleting every file (KX*) , the PC still regonizes all sound cards as KX devices. Only way to cure this was to format C: and re-install Win98SE 3) Vienna doesn't work for looping and wave play back, so this makes KX worthless. 4) Some of the loops in Vienna that would work with creative drivers are not correct and sound terrible. There are lots of aliasing noises. 5) Unless an instrument has 100% reverb selected in Vienna, it won't sound. I don't use any onboard effects. 6) Finally, the soundfonts I use that sound OK with creative drivers, sound terrible with KX. They sound thin, reedy like there is some feedback in them. The orginal appeal for KX drivers was to have multiple sound cards in one PC, but I have two SBlive OEM (SB022) in the PC and they are happier than in pig in slop. I will attemp installing an AWE64 in in ISA slot next(thsi works in my other PC that has an SBlive 5.1 init. |

Answer to 6.
Seems that stereo wavs inside soundfonts don't work (hence horrible phasing effect)..dual monos panned hard left and right should...I'm a complete spanner with these things but hope this helps..So I've been told
