??? 3530 skin refresh delay?

It seems I'm not the only one who experiences this: when changing pages in the mixer there is a delay of a few seconds before the skin is updated.

I'm new here, so I don't know whether this qualifies as a bug. I'm very pleased with the overall quality of the drivers, and even with the delay it's a grand improvement on the Audigy2 drivers I was using before.

well, concerning the 'page delays' issue
in general, it should not happen
I was unable to reproduce this bug, so, I cannot fix it at the moment
if you manage to solve it, let us know

hmm, well. the mixer pages changed almost instantly previous to..... (i think) 3529

in 3530 it takes approximately 0.8 seconds to change pages.

i've found that setting kxmixer's priority to realtime seems to halve this time to 0.4 seconds (still not as quick as it was before 3529)

also, when changing pages, kxmixer's cpu usage goes up to 20-40%!

hope that helps!

Takes me between 1 and 2 sec iwith an Athlon XP 1700+. In other software it's instantaneous. But I guess this isn't something really important anyway because it's fast enough...

Takes me about 5 secs with a lowly Duron 900. CPU usage jumps to 100%. Changing priority to realtime helps a bit.

Page Delays

I can verify the delays. It even happens when just changing the checkboxes on the master page.
It's quite annoying when testing skins especially.
I don't remeber it doing this prior to 3528.
The refresh rate was never as responsive as say winamp or creative's but was never this slow.

Also the behaviour of the sliders is strange now. Flickery and jumps to wierd positions. <Sorry this should be in bugs>

I have P3 1G.

Kez.

It's really a noisy bug!

I don't why the developers didn't suffer this problem, but it does anoy me!

it take 4-5 seconds to refresh pages on my celeron 466 old computer and the cpu usage up to 100% during that time. it did happen on a lot of computers besides mine in China cause I've posted this bug on an another BBS dealing with soudcards and receive many replies suffering the same thing.

It happen ever since the version 3529-- the fouth time to rewriter the whole codes(right?)

I really hope it will no happen again in 3532!!

the 3531's seem slightly quicker. especially the "analyser" page. -it is *almost* instantaneous now.

I doubt it is OS related.
But it can be InternetExplorer-dependent (because kX uses OLE features in order to display images).

I have the problems and I use winxp sp1 (internet explorer 6), but if I remember right I experience those problems since 3518 (first version I used).

yes. the pages which change slowest are the pages with the most mixer's in them (output volumes, recording volumes, ac97)
the quickest pages are the ones with the least graphics (fx, soundfont, analyser)

so the slowest - quickest:

main page
output volumes
recording volumes
ac97
fx
soundfont
analyser

(basically the order in which they are in the mixer applet)

No, it happened verytime of change a page

well, at least I didn't suffer the delay when I was using 3528 (that's what I first use), so I don't think it's IE's Problem.

OS

I have P3 1G with XP... I get around 1.5 to 2 secs delay on all pages except analyser which means it must be to do with displaying the images. All other apps and control panels on my sytem are instantaneous. I can run a debugger if you like.
