SP-DIF problem

Hi all!

Question:
I have 2 PC's, one with an Audigy card, from which I connected the SP-DIF output to the other PC's card, a Creamware Scope Home.
I play music from the Audigy's PC and record on the other one.
I don't know what has happened, but lately the following is happening: the Audigy's PC seems to give an SP-DIF 'pulse' or something every few minutes -in any case, the SP-DIF icon appears on screen- and for a few seconds the other PC won't record. Even when I am playing music on it (Cubase SX, keyboard) the sound mutes for a few secs.
I can't seem to find why the SP-DIF icon appears every few minutes and more importantly, how to stop it.
Anybody any thoughts....?

Thanks!
Hans

I don't know if this is it-but I remembered another post with a similar problem:
Try

Right Clicking the kX manager->Settings->OSD Notifications->Uncheck SPDIF Activity

Are the sample rates in both devices the same?

Yes. It's the same as when you check the SP-DIF bypass mode. Icon pops up and audio is muted for a few secs. It's enough to drive you crazy.....

I was asking because on saturday I was recording my friend's boss gt-8 into the audigy's spdif in (using waveHQ), and I had to give up and record the analog signal, because I couldn't get any digital signal into it. That same icon just kept appearing and disappearing all the time... And all the other cards got messed up too, I couldn't get any signal from any card while that gt-8 was connected to the spdif in of that audigy and using waveHQ. Strange...

However, recording spdif in at 48khz/16-bit worked well.

Does anybody know what happens if I pass to the p16v a spdif signal different than 96khz?

Yes - it seems there is no sample rate conversions when I do this.
