EEK! 4 inputs (WITH) live drive bay help ?

hey guys

i've read a few posts here on dsp's, profx and asio.

i ubderstand the concept behind them. thnx from the help of a couple other people here for explianing things.

i've also read some posts on getting 4 seperate inputs for recording but
most of them are for two seperate cards though.

none mention 4 seperate inputs "WITH" the live drive. and how to rout it " that is unless i've missed them " lol

i've posted my dsp settings and pics in another thread. and a couple people looked at them and siad i was on the right track.

my problem is the pull down menus that are IN the ADC, SRC on assigning the right inputs.

i basically want to record my 4 tracks from a real to real. "it does have 4 seperate outputs, Teac A-2340SX multi sync". to cubase for further editing and i want to do this WITH the live bay.

here are my DSP settings. remember....... the pull down menus for assigning is what is confusing me.

if anyone has a live drive with the similar set up could u post some pics of ur dsp i can upload my dsp to u send it if needed. i'm a pictorial kind of guyman.... to many b*ngs i my younger days lol

thnx guys for getting me this far.

This is possible

Hello,

What you are trying to do is possible. I have an SB00060 with a LiveBay2 and using the kX drivers I am able to record 4 discrete channels using ASIO with Ableton Live. (2 channels over the RCA inputs, and 2 channels over the stereo 1/4" input (using a dual-1/4" to stereo 1/8" adapter, and then a stereo 1/8" to stereo 1/4" adapter)

Amazingly (why I enjoy the kX dirvers so much) it didn't take much configuration to accomplish this. I installed the latest 3538 drivers, and all of the inputs on the LiveDrive appeared in the kX mixer. I checked in the DSP, and the prolog was wired to the 16 ASIO pins on the epilog, which seemed good, so I launched Ableton Live and set it up for ASIO.

One thing that caught me, the Inputs need to be un-muted to be recorded over ASIO. I had hoped to be able to record sound without playing it out of my speakers (to prevent feedback loops with microphones) but that is not curently possible. So be sure that you've unmuted your inputs, and can hear them over your speakers/headphones before you try to record multiple tracks. If you can hear your 4 inputs, then try all of the ASIO channels in your recording software until you find the 4 you want, an dyou should be good to go.

Your DSP seems pretty modified, and I can't really recognize what it's doing, but I can tell you that what you want to do is possible. (and very very cool :-)

Good Luck!

Connect the SRC's directly to the ASIO inputs.

ex:

SRC(AUX2) -->ASIO 00/01 ( record from asio 00 (AUX L) and asio 01 (AUX R) )

SRC(LINE IN/MIC 2) -->ASIO 02/03 ( record from asio 02 (LINE/MIC L) and asio 03 (LINE/MIC R) )
