Soundblaster Live! Value <---> Windows Vista
So my card obviously not supported under Windows Vista (or so I thought) but after installing kX 3538, my Card was detected as kX 10K1 Audio(3538) - Model CT4780 Value. And wow, I get sound when I reboot and when Window start for the first time!
But that's it No CD sound, No midi, No music, No Windows sound (none period). I am not all that familiar with the kX software (as I just downloaded it for the first time). But when I tried to test, I get "Fail to Create Sound" .. Any thought? Here's my details from Kx ---Hardware / Software configuration--------------- Driver Name:kX Audio Driver (Debug) Driver Date: Jan 22 2007 03:57:56 Driver Version: 5.10.00.3538 - debug DB Name:none CT4780 10k1 [cce0] PCI Information: Device: 21102 Subsys: 80221102 ChipRev: a Card has MPU device Card HAS AC97 codec Codec name: Cirrus Logic (unknown) 3D Extension: Crystal Semi 3D Stereo Enhancement Codec is 2.0 compliant Capabilities[1990] : -headphone out- DAC resolutions : -16-bit- -20-bit- ADC resolutions : -16-bit- -18-bit- Ext Capabilities [200]: -slot/DAC mappings- Port: cce0 Irq: 0x8(8) Playback buffer: 20a0 Record buffer: 4000 Number of AC3 buffers: 4 Tank memory: 256 kb GSIF buffer: 256 samples OS version: [2 6 0 ; 2 6 0 ; 156 148] ---------------------------------------------------- |

I am using the sound card out of my old Gatewat (ct4780) Sound Blaster Live 32 bit with digatle speakers BA735. I installed the Kx 3538 driver and I get no sound at all. When I reboot I get an error the sound drivers may not have installed correctley please reinstall. I tried and same message over. I am going nuts please help anyone!. I seen one post saying the Realtek audio driver also works but I can not find anything on that driver. The sound card is good and the speakers are good, Vista is a pain in the #@# Thnks Ken |

Soundblaster Live Vista Drivers Needed!
I'm having the same issue. I have a Soundblaster Live CT-4780 card and I'm trying to use it with Vista. I'm trying to like Vista, but it's trying my patience.
![]() I just want to use speakers that require a digital signal. I would be willing to buy a new sound card if I could use my Boston Acoustic BA7500G system. Any suggestions? |

Version 3539 is avalable here:
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/general-...-released.html I don't use Vista or 3539 but I am guessing that 3539 is your best hope of getting kX to work properly in Vista. READ through the whole post in that thread to see if your setup is compatible with kX. |

I used the NGO creative modded driver with my SBlive and had good results with it. When I installed it the first time I believe it gave me an option for setting it up for games or music. Select music, because when i tried to set it up for games my sound was distorted.
