Line2/Mic2: settings
I have an Audigy card. What settings I should adjust in kX mixer to be able to hear the coming sound signal from TV in my headphones and to record this sound to my comp. Thank you.
PS the TV-cable from audio TV output is connected to the Audigy's line in socket. |

Go to kx mixer, in the ac97 properties set source to "line in", and unmute the line in tab in there.
Go to the recording levels menu (the one with the red dot icon in kx mixer), unmute ac97 and set it to the desired value. (I am assuming that the program you'll be using uses the wdm driver and your dsp has the default configuration) This is one of the (infinite ) ways. hope it helps. ps: this refers to the card's rear line in (is that the one you're using?) |

Assuming you have a LiveDrive... 'Ins and Outs' page of kX Mixer: - Unmute and adjust 0 db level for 'Line 2' - Unmute and adjust level for the output you connected your headphones to. Presumably, the LiveDrives Headphone output, which is labeled with headphone icon in the kX mixer (top row of sliders, 2nd from right edge) 'Record' Page of kX Mixer: - Unmute and adjust to 0db level for 'Line 2' make sure you have the potentiometer/physical gain (located next to the physical input jack) adjusted and otherwise setup properly, depending on line or mic (and type). Set recording application to record 'Kx Wave 0/1'. You may need to set up windows to use this by default. |

Line 2 Mic 2 are Livedrive inputs - A live drive goes where a 5 1/4" floppy drive would normally go - it gives Aux 2, Line 2/Mic 2, Coax/Optical SPDIF IN & Out and 1/4" Headphone output.
If you dont have a Live drive: you either dont have Line 2/ mic 2 OR you did some hardware hack on your audigy Livedrives usually come with 'Platinum' Edition Audigy/2/ZS. |

I do not know anything about Soundforge, but if it does not let you select anything other than Microsoft Sound Mapper (I do not know if this is normal with this program), than you need to make sure that kX Wave 0/1 is set as the default device for recording in the Windows Control Panel.
BTW: If you want to hear it in your headphones, then you should also unmute the Line In slider on the AC97 page of kxmixer (or unmute the AC97 slider on the Ins and Outs page of kxmixer) and adjust the volume as desired. Last edited by Russ; Mar 22, 2007 at 10:31 PM. |

For ASIO recording you would need to use a different config, and you would need to record at 16/48.
You should be able to use Microsoft Sound Mapper, or the Windows Classic Wave driver. Confirm the following in kX: Recording page of kxmixer: Master Recording level is set to 100. AC97 Recording level is set to 0 db. AC97 page of kxmixer: AC97 Source is set to Line In. Recording Gain slider is not muted. |

As for the rest, it is basically the same thing that Johnny1982 said, but because there was some confusion (because of the title of this thread) as to which port you were using, I wanted to be sure that you knew which instructions to follow, etc. In any case, I am glad that it is working for you
