Mata Hari is on a distinguished road

small request and small idea

Hi,

1st a small request, namely the removal of the check in surrounder+ on audigy 2 cards before enabling 7.1 sound.
The reason for this is that with an IO board, an audigy 1 can also export 7.1 sound over the spdif creative din connector, so with a small and simple spdif decoder board, you can connect 7.1 distinct speakers (or use a compatible 7.1 digital set like the gigaworks 750 or something)
Russ had a test compiled surrounder+ with the check removed a few weeks ago apparently, but he reinstated the check in his version (and I didn't find his old version).

Now, for the small idea.
As my DSP settings completely bypass any "standard mixing", the media keyboard volume settings don't work.
Would it be possible to add this to KX automation? Thus have an extra option which is nothing more then the media keyboard volume setting, so you can yourself decide which of the few mixers in your DSP to change.

MM KB Volume is done by epilog - And IIRC, there is a post that explained how to rename a volume control to 'epilog' to regain MMKB functionality even if your not using epilog.

I can't say I like your suggestion, about making it part of kX Automation, because, as it stands now - I can control master volume in 2 ways (MIDI or MMKB) your way - I'll loose the MIDI way (seeing as only 1 midi controller can be assigned to 1 kX automatable parameter - So Id be forced into choosing either one)

As Maddogg6 stated, Master Volume is controlled by epilog, and adjusting the Master Volume value via the keyboard or kX Automation is meaningless without a plugin to actually do the volume change.

Additionally, Master Volume can be re-assigned to any plugin using kX Console, so, if you do not want to use epilog, you could use another plugin, or create your own for this purpose.
