Installation for dummies

If this has already been asked and answered, then spank me please.
I've got 98se and an SBlive Platinum. I tried to install the..3531 drivers but all hell broke loose. Now..After much regvaccing..Do I uninstall my old SBlive drivers or not?...Do I remove all Creative entries in Device manager first..whats the format? Also..Am I wasting my time with this version? Should I go for the older ones? Muchos appreciados...

it's the best way to make sure you are 100% rid of all creative drivers.
