Vista issues - now with pictures!
Windows Vista (Ultimate)
Soundblaster Live! 5.1 (PCI card, no box) I tried installing the latest kx (3537), and it did a decent job - I have 2.0 output. However, I have a 5.1 speaker set. Another problem (the previous one is the important one for me) - I was lead to believe Vista's default mixer would be replaced by something by kx. This didn't happen. Also, I have no access to kx features other than uninstalling/reinstalling the thing (via the All Programs menu, that is). Here are snapshots of the errors I got during installation. Where I don't specify the course of action I've taken, either one yielded pretty much the same result. http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/6986/prob1us1.jpg http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/3622/prob2cd0.jpg http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/6520/prob3pf1.jpg http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/551/prob4uw1.jpg Please help. P.S: The images are sorted chronologically, beginning at the top. |

3537 is not the latest version, and AFAIK is not compatible with Vista.
You should use 3538m. Beyond the above, look at the info in the following thread, and search the forum for known issues with Vista: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/general-...-surround.html |
