sorry in advance
It is going to be long story... Its been a long time since I last posted a new thread or even make a post anywhere around because everything w kx was runing ok for me(though I use kx for 4 years now I wouldn't call myself so experienced because the main reason for using kx is the low latency on midi and thats quite enough for me). I wouldn't post anyway but (making long things short) something strange happened. After a fresh installation of WinXP because of hard drive probs(formated), my old SB0090 10k2[a000] with live drive was nowhere to show in the system. Nothing was changed in the configuration of the sytem except that I removed the 56k modem that was no longer needed. Even on the black screen on system startup the SB wasn't present, not in the device manager as a device that has got to be installed. Took out the SB cleaned the pci contacts and blew the mobo's slot in case of bad contact. Nothing. Changed the pci slot, still nothing. ![]() At this point I have to mention that the modem was removed after the WinXP installation and untill then both of the modem and the SB0090 was shoing in the device manager but hadn't installed any drivers for them yet. Then I removed the modem procceded with installing XPSP2-reboot and VOILA! The old SB was nowhere. Finally and after a lot of experimenting I managed to get things working but in a very strange way. This is to put the modem back in it's right slot and not different than the initial one. It is like after all these years the two devices have become a couple and didn't like the "divorce". ![]() I guess the SB0090 loves very much her old-lazy 56k husband. So I have to deal with it wether I like it or not! ![]() No problem for anyone to solve I suppose ;-) I just wanted to share it with you but any explanations are welcome. cheers

Try to enable "PnP OS Installed" and "Reset Configuration Data" in BIOS.
If still doesn't work, remove CMOS battery for ~30 mins. (your settings in BIOS will reset!!) |
