Support for Windows XP x64 Edition?!
With the original Creative drivers I've had a big problem with ugly sound issues. I solved this problem via disabling all eax effects in the eax console. But i have to do this every time again after a reboot.... So I wish the KX driver would be there for win x64 now, cause I'm sure that it works much better. Under 32 Bit OS they worked great and everything was easy to handle, but under x64 there is nothing but this ugly creative driver/software.
So when will we see the KX for win64? Or does anyone know a solution for my problem? I think the default eax settings have to be changed to mine (all disabled) vie reg key or something?! |

Hm, there is the option to create your own profile under which i saved my settings. Now this profile has to be loaded @ every startup. I have to do it myself atm and that sucks...so what to do?

Seems to me it saved mixer settings, EAX settings etc... For some reason I think I need to get to this switch via the windows CP - and right clicked on one of the icons - or that CP window had a 'settings' drop down menu or something... but I'm recalling using Liveware... so its probably changed. Did you try the CL forums? |

See the 'Options' menu? - what are the 'options?
Also - is there a tray icon near the windows clock? What happens when you left or right click on it? CL = Creative Labs = Sound Blaster Makers.... and they have forums just like DH here - but you'll find more people familiar with CL drivers. http://forums.creative.com/creativel...d=soundblaster |

I've disabled that tray icon, but if i would have it, it would guide me to the sound preferences or to play back preferences, but there is nothing with eax and it's juste the standard windows xp control panel.

dont look for 'EAX' - the 'setting' Im thinking of was more of a 'global' - save settings on shut down - eax profile, mixer levels etc...
Was your answer covering what options are available with the options menu on the Audio HQ CP applet? Maybe those forums are a better place for you to get your answer. ?? Sorry - but Im not gonna re-install CL bloated drivers just so I can more clearly recall what setting Im thinking of. Considering I could still be wrong in that I wont save what it is your looking for it to save/recall at start up. Maybe its as simple as naming your EAX profile to 'default' or something like that. |

Hm, in the AudioHQ there is an option "load at startup" but nothing more. Even then, it doesn't load my settings, i have to do this manually. I'll try naming my profile "default"

Looks like VB script (part of windows I think) can change modes and such..
I see mention of profile saving per mode too..?? http://forums.creative.com/creativel...=166503#M66508 from the.. eh hem - CL forums I mentioned a while ago. Also there are other scripting languages that can automate mouse/key (at start up if use the start menu)- Autoit and Autohotkey |

Looks quite complicated for me and isn't exact what I need. Im not familiar with those scripts, so how to create one for me? And isn't that slow at startup?

If you look at AutoHOTKey - theres a recorder that record mouse and key activity.
Speed? - it should be faster than you doing it manually all the time. Or - tough it out until kX supports Win64... ?? |
