Creative's new audigy driver

I found this on thier website concerning features and fixes with the latest official audigy driver release...

"Features includes:

Drivers are WHQL Certified
Provides Dolby Digital decoding from external SPDIF Input.
Speaker settings in Creative Audio Mixer are synchronized with Windows Multimedia setting.
New presets and effects added
Fixes:

Reduces excess reverb in MIDI while using software synthesizer
Removes glitches when playing MIDI using SoundFonts®
Removes distortion during AC-3 playback
Performs recording without playback
Improves multi channel wave file playback
Hardware acceleration of Open AL.
Fixed audio distortion and slow start up when resume from standby
Fixed elevation bug causing muffled sound in some games"

Seems to me not one of these things has been a problem for me using the kxproject drivers.... hmm don't even know why I bothered to check the site to find this out, there is NO WAY they could come out with any update that would not make the switch back to thier drivers a step BACKWARDS!

Way to go Creative! Another Triumph!

Word!

well.. i still have problems with recording and playing back my cubase projects using the kX drivers. everything's out of sync and i want to be able to record using other samplerates than 48 kHz. guess i'll give these new creative drivers a spin.

hey surealsurrender,

the changelog you posted looks an awful lot like the changelog for the 31/12/2002 audigy update. i guess there is no log for the new drivers yet. they're also not up on creative's european site. still the 31/21/2002 version there.

They seem to be a little better than thea aud 2 drivers. I'm using them on a sb 5.1. I think creative has smashed into a brick wall lately. The one problem I have gotten is Nvidia's dvd player won't work now. I get an erroe message "Cannot find sound card". Other than that I have not had any problems.

1/28/2003,5.12.1.286 You have to install manually through device manager though.
