3532 alpha release
hello
The official 3532 release will introduce a lot of changes, so, in order to test it thoroughly we release '3532-a' -- a special 'development' version (probably, the 3532-b, 3532-c etc.. to follow before the 'official' 3532 is finally out). This version is intended to be used by advanced users only, which are familiar with kX driver and are not afraid to use highly unstable code. The changelog ------------------- Audigy2 Platinum Ex and External Drive support added Added support for Separate OSD/RemoteIR settings for each device Basic support for controlling WinAmp 2.xx via RemoteIR added Fixed bug with SPDIF Freq selection Fixed possible bug with SPDIF Bypass mode Stereo samples support (SF2) improved Improved support for multiple kX-compatible cards Selective kX driver installation for multi-card set-ups implemented Notification / RemoteIR code re-written Fixed support for sndvol32 mixer notifications (ALPHA - causes problems with redraw) kX Ctrl utility updated Fixed bug with incorrect 10k2 microcode dump function Fixed B2B DSP Effect Fixed bug with AC-3 passthru for 10k2-based boards - should work correctly now Improved SoundFont velocity/volume/expression handling Ukrainian translation added Japanese translation added Added support for saving / restoring kX Automation settings (ALPHA) Fixed bug with MRU list of settings Enhanced On-Screen Display function added Fixed 'click' when testing speakers Improved test sample for subwoofer channel Improved AC-3 synchronization Improved ASIO synchonization Improved ASIO sample position accuracy Improved UART Out SysEx handling Initial GSIF support Please post any comments on this release into this topic only! Download url: http://kx.maincore.nl/kxdrv3532-update.exe There is no 'full' version available at the moment. Thanks for your collaboration! /Eugene P.S. a note concerning kx mirrors: this is a development release, it is not supposed to be mirrored |

"Notification / RemoteIR code re-written"
"Enhanced On-Screen Display function added" I have noticed two (2) bugs concerning the IR-support... 1. Ain't easy to explain, but this is how you see the bug... a) Press mute on the remote...the volume-bar will turn red b) Now Press Vol+ or Vol- ... c) VoÃ*lá...BUG...:) 2. When first pressing Play, the Play-OSD shows, but all the pressings after that doesn't show any OSDs... I would like some documentation on what buttons controlls what... 4 buttons controlling the Multimedia Player, EAX-button opens the DSP-windows, Start-button opens the Mixer-window...is that it? I would like the posibility to use volume-controll with kX-Remote, but maybe controll winamp with other software (like Girder)...possibility to turn On/Off special "parts" of the kX-Remote... About the OSD Notifications... I know what Volume and Multimedia Player is, but how do I controll the other stuff...like Speaker/Plugs State...??? ------ "Stereo samples support (SF2) improved" I'm using the MagicSFver2 SoundFont...but I get a very distorded sound, especially when there is many tones at the same time... Other, smaller SoundFonts (like Creatives 4 meg) works ok... ------ Another bug, that I noticed in 3531, but it's still there in 3532: The Timbre effect sometimes doesn't let the signal pass through (quiet)...klicking "Bypass" or "Mute" once or twice usally solves the problem temporerly... ------ /Eminos |

>> 1. Ain't easy to explain, but this is how you see the bug...
yes. an old one bug (btw, it is not remote-ir related. the same happens with the mixer itself, too) it seems to be fixed in 3532-b (to be released soon) >> 2. When first pressing Play, the Play-OSD shows, but all the pressings after that doesn't show any OSDs... hmm. if you are using WinAmp 2.8x, it should display the OSDs correctly however, the mixer doesn't update them, if the same button was pressed twice, and if the delay was less than a threshold. >> I would like some documentation on what buttons controlls what... >> 4 buttons controlling the Multimedia Player, EAX-button opens the DSP-windows, Start-button opens the >> Mixer-window...is that it? yes, that's all (well, add volume +/- & mute) >> I would like the posibility to use volume-controll with kX-Remote, but maybe controll winamp with other >> software (like Girder)...possibility to turn On/Off special "parts" of the kX-Remote... to come >> About the OSD Notifications... >> I know what Volume and Multimedia Player is, but how do I controll the other stuff...like Speaker/Plugs >> State...??? they are available for audigy cards only. nothing of interest, actually (just some experiments..) >> "Stereo samples support (SF2) improved" >>I'm using the MagicSFver2 SoundFont...but I get a very distorded sound, especially when there is many >>tones at the same time... >>Other, smaller SoundFonts (like Creatives 4 meg) works ok... what kind of distortion? noise? click?... >> Another bug, that I noticed in 3531, but it's still there in 3532: >> The Timbre effect sometimes doesn't let the signal pass through (quiet)...klicking "Bypass" or "Mute" once >> or twice usally solves the problem temporerly... what does it depend on? does it happen on startup? or randomly during normal operation? /Eugene |

Hi Eugene.
Regarding GSIF support I don't seem to get any sound from GigaStudio 32. Do I have to make special routings? Otherwise than no sound, it seems stable in combination with ASIO apps. Thanx for an otherwise superb driver package. >>hmm. if you are using WinAmp 2.8x, it should display the OSDs correctly
Sorry, my bad...I was using Winamp3 with RM-X plugin...so forget this "bug"...it ain't a bug...:) >>yes, that's all (well, add volume +/- & mute) Ok...I just noticed an old bug again, that can be pain in the ass if you are using other IR software... With the RM-900 remote, you have an other set of buttons if you press and hold the speaker button at the same time you press any other button (you probably already know this)... Hmm...this is hard to explain again...and kX-IR-controlls can be controlled both regular AND with the speaker button pressed...this is pain in the ass if you want to use vol+/- with kX, and other controlls on the "speaker + vol+/- " buttons... I hope you understand what I'm talking about... >>what kind of distortion? noise? click?... Hmm...It's A LOT of clicking... I can give you a record of it when I get Internet at home (at the begining of the month)... >>what does it depend on? >>does it happen on startup? or randomly during normal operation? I don't know really... Every time when I start my computer, I have no sound out from the Timbre-plugin... But I never lose the sound, just like that... ------ It would be great if you could intergrate kX with a great software called Girder (www.girder.nl)... The best thing would be if someone could make a plugin for Girder, so that you can send MIDI-signals from girder, and by this control parameters in kX-plugins (via kX Automation)... If this isn't possible, maybe you could add the posibility to controll plugin parameters with keyboard makros (like Ctrl+Alt+<somebutton>)...? The goal is to be able to controll Sobwoofer volume/Front volume/Rear volume/Plugins-parameters with the remote controll (rm-900)... The whole thing should be nice with menues and such... That would be great...:) /Eminos |

I found another bug unstalling 3532 alph from you mess up my swap button on the sound card I have unstalled. Then put my creative drivers back up.. It's really weird when I turn on my front speakers don't show sound but when I turn it off it does don't know why it's cauing that or not. It's where you swap front and back speakers they don't work after unstalling your 3532 alph drivers going stick to creative drivers that gateway gave me for now.

Just a quick question. If this HAS been fixed, please accept my apologies.
I still use the 3528-drivers for stability reasons, but I've discovered one bug that resets the position of the AC97-volume-level in the Recording-page, if the ac97-mute-button is clicked and you then switch to another page/alternative close the kX-mixer. Has this bug been nailed out several revisions ago? I push that MUTE-button alot, and always have to adjust the level as I'm unmuting it again.

the mixer refresh show delay problem still exits, I'm quite sure that it's not just my problem. it's just like a bug that can never be solved. why does no anybody that will spend a little time to solve this buggy??

agreed ![]() why?.. we need a beta tester capable of running 'monitor' (kxdev.narod.ru) note that his/her hardware/software setup should function correctly under 3528 release [that is, practically without delays] anyway, 3532-b is out. see http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthre...threadid=14339 for details /Eugene |

how to use the monitor?
can you tell me the brief steps to make it work?
well, my steps are: open the Monitor.exe--Open the .sys file----windows/system32/drivers/kx.sys---GO---get the message:"ERROR (1058): The driver is marked as disabled (Start=4) in its service database entry."

the monitor should work w/o the need for uploading the driver manually
that is, you simply execute 'monitor.exe' the driver (kx.sys) gets loaded on your windows startup in order to check if everything works correctly, start any audio playback the monitor should print a message 'waveout open...' /E |

Using MP3 files the sound still skips and crackles when you start a video file using MCI. (DVD etc)
This dose not happen with original drivers - however they make winamp skip. |
