Doubled sound from AC97 mic input!
I am using a very simple setup for gaming where I run the AC97mic (Profx src) through an effect straight into the K2LT Out1/Out2 (Analog Front Out -- not swapped -- headphones plugged into this) and the K2LT Out15/Out16 (WinNM record). My problem is that I hear both the dry sound AND the effect sound being reproduced in my headphones. It's like there's a separate monitor signal bypassing the effect but coming into the same output.
However, the sound is NOT doubled on the WinNM inputs. That produces the expected result. Is this an internal hardware config of some sort? Any way to correct this? |

make sure your application is not monitoring the input signal - that sounds like the likely cause
EDIT: also try removing any unneccessary DSP elements

Make sure that the MIC In slider on the AC97 page of kxmixer is muted.

I am trying to Record audio via Line-in port. I hear the sound through my earphones and I want to monitor it with my recording software. So audio is doubled. How do I mute sound in my earphones? I want to monitor it only by software. If I mute, recording software is also muted. |

What DSP config are you using? How are you recording (i.e. ASIO or MME)? Other info that would be useful: Which model sound card? What version of kX? If you are recording using MME, then mute the AC97 slider on the Ins and Outs page of kxmixer. |
