windows speaker setup question
I saw that the recommended windows speaker setup for kx driver is 5.1 surround,
even if you have 2 speaker setup. I am currently using 3538m driver, with 2 speakers , and set in kx surrounder "stereo only" and 2.1. All games function correctly, however in lost planet game I dont hear some of the sounds unless I set "desktop stereo speakers" in windows speaker setup. Can I keep this setting or It is required to change it back to 5.1 surround for kx to function properly? Thanks! |

the only reason you need to set the windows CP to 5.1 is if you want to use more than one stereo output - from the sounds of it you don't need that, so if 2.0/2.1 works best for you, then you should use that

Do you know how to possibly fix this on Vista? I installed 3589 on vista on my machine last night...and Lost Planet (and other games) where missing sounds (some sounds were trying to come out my rear speakers, which I don't have).
However, I couldn't find a way to tell Vista to only use 2 speakers, instead of a 5.1 setup, as the "Configure" button for the output is grayed out, and Surrounder had no effect whatsoever. Any insight on this, and I will love you long time. Cheers. Alexis |
