question for audigy users
Right now I am using a SB0222 live 5.1 (with kX dirvers) with logitech x530 speakers... Would i notice a big difference in sound quality if i purchesed an audigy 2 valeu or audigy 4 (also with kX drivers) ?

I don't have any logitech x530 speakers, but what I can say is that I can hear a noticeable difference (for better) with the Audigy2.

Confirmed. Audigy1 sounds slightly better than a Live! card, Audigy 2 ZS sounds a lot better and has higher quality codecs. Donīt buy an Audigy2 Value card, spend some more bucks for a real Audigy2 card. You will never regret it

IMHO, the best buy would be an Audigy 2 ZS (sb0350), since it has plenty of ins/outs to play with.
Unfortunaly it has been discontinued some time ago, but I'm sure you can get an used one for a decent price.

I may be able to pull out an audigy4 oem, though. I'm only aiming for better sound quality, not how many ins and outs the card has. My current DSP setups work very well on the sb live also, so.. which is better in sound quality.. audigy 4 vs audigy 2zs? |

In the past few years, I bought an Audigy 1 (SB0090) and an Audigy 2 ZS (SB0350) on Ebay and both worked perfectly. Looks like you can BUY IT NOW on Ebay for around $50 USD.
My advice is to go for the Audigy 2 ZS. |

IIRC, WaveHQ is not currently supported on that model.

Audigy 4 (non-Pro) has better chipset, it can play 44.1kHz without resampling. Unfortunately kX doesn't support this new features.

Yes.
Thank God! I have a Delta 1010LT, and a Mackie ONYX Sattelite, a Keystation Pro 88 (new model, not the one where the keys stick), a Shure KSM27 Mic, and a pair of KRK RockIt 5 Studio Monitors! I get stable 2.xms latency with the Delta. I'm loving it, and the sound quality (even at lower sample rates) is very impressive compared to using a Creative Consumer card! I know I said I was gonna try a Audigy 4 first, but I changed my mind. I did'nt want to waste any more money ( and kX doesn't fully support the Audigy 4, anyway). Sorry for going off topic here. Cya all around. |
