Surround Setup & Testing

I've used KX drivers for 6 months, currently using v ".3531 and the Rear Outs are connected to the stereo / main speakers.

While everything works pretty well (and I'm much appreciative for your effort) I noticed that when I run the speaker test (no matter if I setup for Surround, 5.1, Desktop speakers etc), same thing. Front, and rear Left chimes are heard through my left speaker, and both Rights are heard through my right speaker.

While it's not a problem I'd be real concerned about, what brought me here is I just hooked up two junked monitor speakers to the KX front outs and want to see if I can experience Surround sound.

So, the KX/SB Rear Outs still go to main speakers and now the Front Outs go to trashy new monitor speakers. But other than startup and shutdown I don't get sound out of the (trashy new surround speakers).

So I wonder two things:

1. Should I totally comletely remove any semblence of KX drivers and reinstall (I sort of think so) and

2. Is there any independant sound bytes that are for sure encoded in Surround so I can independantly make sure I have surround capability?
Just some encoded wave I can download or something?

Thank you very much, struggling college student here,
Joey

Open the KX DSP windows, find the SURROUNDER plugin, right click on it, choose TWEAK and adjust to taste. You'll then get surround sound.
