i have a soundblaster live 5.1

altec speakers 1 sub 4 speakers but the speakers plug into sub and that only has 2 cables to soundcard (front /rear)

with sb drivers I got tonns of bass

but with kx drivers I get none

can someone show me how to set this up

I have surounder set tp preset suround mix 2.0

with headphones pluged in I hear all six sounds in speaker test

i dont have the rear speakers pluged in nor do I have the rear channel pluged into the soundcard

with the altec speakers I hear the left\right front from both fronts

I dont hear the center or the base

and I hear the rear l|r from both but louder than the front lr

if I go into dsp and unhook a left or right from timbre or epilog

i can hear the center but the channel I left hooked still comes out both

I have verified the speakers work using the real SB drivers

any thoughts

I figured it out

dirt on the plug

I feal like such a moron

this is what happens when you do 2 weeks of midnights after 2 years of day shift
