XtroTheArctic is on a distinguished road

3D sound in world of warcraft

I know kx dont support 3d sounds yet and I know games can play 3d sounds with kx.

but I wonder if there is a solution for 3d sound in world of warcraft. I dont have any ohter 3d sound game. so I can test with only WOW.

if Vista sound device selected : Master Mixer, all sounds come from front and read speakers as same.

if Vista sound selected : wave out 4/5, I can only front speakers as stereo in wow.

is there a fix for this or can I expect a near future uptade fx draver for this ?

sorry for my english.

Strictly speaking - it does - yes, kX supports DirectSound3D (though the 3D positioning is pretty rough)

You don't get any 3D in Vista just because the Vista has no DirectSound3D itself at all.

So, speaking of Vista - there's no and will be no fix for that (kX is not going to support any 3rd party 3D sound API as well as to provide its own).
So, unless WoW has some kind of its own "software 3D sound rendering engine" (check its "sound options/settings" or somthing) - no 3D sound for kX+Vista+WoW.

(depending on the model of the soundcard you actually own - i'd suggest you to try manufacturer's (e.g. Creative) driver and their 3Dsound hack for Vista (e.g. "Alchemy")).
