That seems to indicate that Master Mixer is kX Wave 0/1 (or is somehow configured to use kX Wave 0/1).
What this means is that you should now be able to upmix your Wave/MP3 audio (using Surrounder's "Surround" modes), adjust the Reverb/Chorus levels for Wave/MP3 audio, and your headphones will work (as well as the 10BandEQ), etc. |

Would "WaveHQ" be better than "Wave 0/1" ?
3rik P.S. : Effects like Stereo Chorus or Reverb doesn't work... |

Again, I am not the best person to ask about WaveHQ stuff, but I would say that it would probably not be the best option to use as the Windows default device in the CP (but I could be wrong).
If you are getting a signal from FxBus 0/1 as you stated previously, then I can only guess that you are not adjusting it correctly, or maybe the settings of the plugin(s) themselves are just set such that it is not that noticeable to you. There are a few different things that effect the Reverb and Chorus levels (for Wave/MP3): 1) The In0Level slider in the FxMix2 plugin. 2) The FX1 and FX2 sliders in the FxMix2 plugin (these sliders are same as Reverb/Chorus levels found in kxmixer). 3) The settings within the Reverb and Chorus plugins themselves. 4) The Wave 0/1 Send levels in kX Router. For testing purposes I would suggest loading more peak plugins and connect them to the output pins of the Reverb and Chorus plugins to see if you are getting a signal out of those plugins. If you see a signal then you know that they are working, and maybe you just need to make some adjustments such that the levels are more what you like. For testing I would make sure that the In0Level slider, the FX1 and and FX2 sliders in the FxMix2 plugin are set to 100%. Also, make sure that you did not accidentally disconnect anything during your previous testing. If you are unsure, then reinitialize the DSP to reload the default config. Beyond the above, at some point you should read the various guides/faq/tuturials/kX Help, etc, in order to understand how to use the various plugins and how the DSP works, etc. Note: General testing procedure (if you think some plugin doesn't work) is to use peak plugins to see if a signal is going to a plugin, and to see if a signal is leaving that plugin. Obviously if no signal is going into a plugin, then the plugin is not going to do anything, at which point you should check the plugins that come before that plugin, etc. If a signal is going to the plugin, but not coming out of the plugin, then check the settings of that plugin itself. Beyond that it is just a matter of checking the routing (i.e. is it connected correctly (it is in the default DSP config)) and adjusting the settings of the plugins. Russ,
First of all thank you for your patience and for your help. Reverb and Chorus work... Their level was set to "inf" in the KX Mixer. I guess it's time for me to search for guides now... ![]() 3rik |

Glad I could help
![]() Start your search here: kX Resources and Support Documentation Also, do not forget about the kX Help, FAQ, Knowledgebase, this forum, etc. It can be confusing at first, but once you get the basic idea, it is not so bad. Last edited by Russ; Nov 7, 2007 at 04:28 PM. Reason: fix broken link |

So, 'better' - yes, 24/96 playback is 'better' than 16/48... but you loose kX DSP effects. (and its limited to outputting to logical fronts only, unless WAVE HQ is sent AC3 encoded material - then the rears/center/lfe can be used. - OR, in the case of Sonar, can address those outputs individually... (for surround mixing in WDM mode, by kX Driver doesnt offer seperate output devices for Wave HQ like it does for Wave X/X) so, in short, no kX DSP means less routing flexibility as well. BUT... You can playback 24/96 using Wave HQ - and add effects to that in the kX DSP with the P16V plugin - and it gets 'mixed' automagically at the physical outputs. - but of course the effects are still 16/48 because the kX DSP caused them. I hope that makes sense - the whole P16V / Wave HQ things is kinda confusing.... |
