SPDIF and external convertors

If I use my A2zs with external adc/dac converters to SPDIF in on the A2zs can I record in all bit &sample rates 16/24 @ 44.1,48, 96

see kX Project -- Direct Recording Guide
so if your are about 24/96 you'd better get a soundcard capable of slave syncing to SPDIF input (and none of kX supported cards are)

Yes Max I read that prior to the post.It sounds that "Direct SPDIF Recording I could do 16 bit at any sampling rate. Correct?

Yes, with "Direct SPDIF Recording" you have any rate (w/o resampling) but only in 16 bits.

I use 2x CS5343 24Bit, 192kHz A/D converters as slave device on both free A2ZS I2S ports. I get over 92 db dynamic range and 0.007% THD and noise. This is quite enough for me . Anyway, the ADCs are synchronized to DSP and so I still record 48kHz/16Bit in ASIO. This doesen´t matter I think, the signal quality is very good and the input headroom is fine. No distortion, only saturating effects near 0db.
