Install only Audio, not MIDI devices?

Is it possible to install only the audio-part of the kx drivers, but no midi devices? Or is there a way to delete the midi-devices after installation?
Due to the 10-device-limit in Win2k in need some "space" for other midi devices...
Thanks for your help!

Yes, in Win2k there is this limit. In WinXP the max devices is set to 32.

URL: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...esign_2u5j.asp

"In Windows_2000, the Windows multimedia functions allow a maximum of 10 device interfaces on each of the following APIs: waveIn, waveOut, midiIn, midiOut, mixer, and aux. For example, an application can create up to 10 device interfaces for waveIn devices and another 10 for waveOut devices.
In Microsoft® Windows®_XP, the limit on the number of device interfaces per API is increased from 10 to 32.
These limits do not apply to Windows_98/Me, which allows applications to create arbitrary numbers of device interfaces."

yes, there's such a limit
it cannot be simply avoided...

you could try editing the registry (local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\control\*. . such as 'deviceclasses')

hi,
its much easyer to edit the inffile before instalation.
-make a copy of the orginal inf
-delete everything midirelated
-install with the new inffile.(devicemanager ... )

i did this with orginal creaf. driver. with no problems.

have fun

I'm afraid that editing the INF won't work with kX Drivers, because the kernel-level core explicitly checks for the successful creation of the subdevices
but, anyway, you won't loose anything if you try
