Hi there,
I have a creative SB Live 5.1 and I'm using kx Project Audio Driver (since yesterday evening ). I'm trying to decode an AC3-Stream which comes through SPDIF (Aud_ext-Slot), but I do not get it manged. PCM-data-streams are working but when I connect an AC3 source all I hear is a strange "clicking". I heard something about that the the SB Live isn't able to decode AC3 by hardware and therefore this is done by driver (e.g. watching DVD on computer, where decoding AC3-Sound works well). I read that kx Project Audio Driver can decode AC3-Data.Now my question: is it possible to route AC3-Data coming from SPDIF-Inputs into the driver so that the 6 channels appear at the FxBus from where they can be routed to analog speakers output? Thanks for your help. |

kX driver supports decoding any -external- (via spdif in) ac-3 data since 3532 release, but for audigy cards only...
it is technically impossible to implement such support for live or APS boards ![]() kX driver supports decoding any software-originated ac-3 data (mainly used by software DVD players) for any 10k1/10k2 board and, finally, the driver supports "ac-3 bypass" mode for audigy cards /Eugene |
