Live Drive - Creating My Own

Hi guys . . .

I have a SB LIVE 5.1

But dont have a LIVE DRIVE MODULE ( only OEM card )

I think in make my own live drive using mono 1/4 jacks for 8 inputs

02 - line in
02 - cd in
02 - aux
02 - mic 2 in

Its possible ???

Anyone make this ???

Anyone have a LIVE 5.1 input maps ?

I can rec 8 simultaneous tracks perfectly in nuendo cubase with NO DROPS ??

If i can . . i can too . . . USE 2 cards for 16 INPUTS ???

Or 3 CARDS . . FOR 24 INPUTS ?

If exust a DIY live drive project . . anyone can recommend for me ?

This is NOT possible, since the AC97 codec on your card can only capture ONE stereo analog input, so 2 mono channels. Dependent on your card model number you have an AUD_EXT connector onboard, where some extra DIGITAL inputs (and outputs) are available. To use them as analog inputs, you will need one analog to digital converter module per stereo input. If you want to solder something together, check kX-project support site by TravelRec. , go to electronics section.

But for my card i have only TWO MONO INPUTS ? I see in the forum the people say 6 inputs . . how ???

Your card has 6 physical connectors for inputs but the card can only access one of them at a time. They are multiplexed inside the AC97 device.
