Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Breakout Box Dead

Hi folks, new to this board. A guy at Micro Center told me of the KX Audio Driver guys. I've had this card for a few years and all was well until recently. My breakout box simply died. I uninstalled all Creative drivers and installed the KX audio driver package. Still have a dead box though the internal card still does what it should. I was told that the card does not activate the breakout box but rather the driver does. This should have solved my probs but nope. Can a breakout box simply just die? Any help appreciated. I am very far from a 'puter expert so bear that in mind when talking to me.

it could be - kX does support the breakout box, with a couple of issues

iirc the beakout box requires it's own power supply? that would be the first thing i'd check - i've had a wallwart die on me before

No wall wart with this one. It's powered from the sound card. Rather bummed that these drivers didn't work out. Am on a low income and very brokish and don't have the $$$ to replace it. Guess I'll have to get a more basic one for now that I can afford.

Still anyone else out there have any ideas?
