Plese Help

I have a SB0240 which comes up as a SB0245. I am getting a constant hash sound - a ticking or sort or digital clock noise sound. I am using it with Kontakt and V-Stack - it does play and sound gets louder when I play something, when I stop playing it's back to this continous ticking noise. This happens as soon as windows boots.

I am using 3537.

Help!

I just found out one possible clue. I am getting a message when I launch V-Stack that says "Sample rate could not be set. This may be due to sampleclock being set to external sync." BUt I can't find where the setting is to change to internal sync! Is it a jumper on the card!

Help!

I think that is normally set within the software sequencer. What recording application are you using with V-Stack?

Well V-Stack plays VSTI's I use many of them - I checked and the sync says INTERNAL. I installed the Creative drivers and it still has this constant clicking and poping noise. I also have another indentical card (I bought from the same person) and it also does the same thing. I have used KX on many cards and never saw this. Again the noise is always there even if no app is lauched! Could this be the card itself, both cards????

Weird?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Have you verified that it is not a speaker problem? i.e. Are you using the same speakers when testing both cards? Try different speakers and/or headphones.

Could be an AC noise/grounding problem with the speakers or computer. Try plugging system into different outlet (on a different circuit if possible).

Bummer! I think that I have bought 3 kX compatible cards on EBAY and they all worked fine. Hope you get some justice.
