DirectSound acceleration?

Hey everyone! I'm new to these forums so please bear with me:

I've been to the kx project website and I think the last time I've been there, the authors have stated that there is as of yet no hardware directsound acceleration. I'm just wondering whether or not that has changed and if not, are there any plans to implement this?

I'm just curious because this is the only thing that's holding me back from switching from creative's drivers.

DirectSound2D is hardware accelerated.
DirectSound3D hardware acceleration isn't implemented yet.
