patched 3539 for w2k

Wiped out missing function, I beleive, it's not in use, but if it is, there will be a bsod.

Are you saying that 3539 will now work in Win 2K?

kX.sys is fully compatible with Windows 2000, but the .SYS file is marked as "Windows XP-only", because Windows DDK is a very strange piece of microsoft code...

according to 'api compliance report', the driver should work with Win2k and WinXP, provided the PE header is modified to support Windows 2000

there's no need to patch particular functions and/or imports/exports
