Un mute them... for AC97 based inputs - there are 2 places in KX mixer..
1) AC97 page - set up what inputs you wish to use..(un-mute, set levels, set DROPDOWN MENU - if a single input or MIX is desired) 2) INS & OUTS page - un-mute AC97 and adjust level. And for non-ac97 based inputs (LiveDrive, SPDIF - digital CD) - just adjust levels on Ins and Outs page. Now - if you want to record any of those inputs... look at the RECORD page of kX Mixer... Ins and Outs page is sorta like a 'monitor buss' where the recording page is like the recording buss.... sorta kinda... |

ok so ive found all these things you mention on the mixer but i still cant seem to get any of these to record
i have sound coming through the input on the live 5.1 input i can hear it but cant record :? is this something to do with the routing? or the dsp the software i want to record on are either cubase sx 3 or soundforge 9 |

You should definitly learn to make your own DSPs configs for anything more than 'casual' recording with cubase (I mean if you figured out that software, kX isnt any harder IMO, a little easier actually) But at the very least, have a look at how the Default DSP is routed - get frustrated with not being able to quicky understand fXMIX, XROUTER and Surrounder... then make your own DSP :P.... look at lex's website on using PROFX (and get his latest version of ProFx too) with cubase (older version tho, still close enough for general stuff- cubase manual should help from that point) Lex Nahumury's kX Project Support Site |

You might have an SB0060 or SB01xx card which has an ASIO mapping issue, so you get sound on different channels than you expected. You have to try all incoming ASIO channels for signal - anyway, one ASIO channel might be dead.
