1 5.1 + 1 value = crash?!

Hi!
I have a computer with a VIA chipset I want to use as MP3 and media jukebox in the car, with enough outputs so both my kids can have their own headphone. I need two Creative cards for that since only the green (main) output is strong enough to drive the headphones so they can hear anything above the noise in the car (mainly the main stereo system that I and my wife are listening to...). But when I try with one new 5.1 and one original Live! Value, I get crashes. And crashes. I actually made it work by taking out the WLAN card, but I need that for control. So what can be the source of this? The two cards just does not want to co-excist in this environment. It's a MSI KM2M Combo micro ATX mobo with three PCI slots and built in just about everything, the latest drivers for the VIA chipset (but the former drivers did not make a difference) and the latest KX drivers (but the 31 drivers did not help either). I have deactivated the built in sound and LAN, but that didn't help a bit. Has anybody got a good idea to why it won't work, and can anybody help me?

pls provide us with more information on the crash:
what is written by Windows (any technical information, addresses, module names etc...)
when exactly does the crash happen?
etc. etc.

Thanks for answering! Actually nothing is written, it just freezes totally up when the drivers are loaded. The crash usually happens when I am in process of finishing instasllation of the second card or when I boot up again with the WLAN card re-mounted after I have installed both cards with the WLAN card not in place. Then the computer usually never reaches Windows (XP SP1), it just freezes somewhere between POST and Windows. So there's not much info to get either way. Sometimes it manages to reach windows, but then it freezes abot 20 seconds after full boot, again a total freeze, no message. And taht's getting pretty rare on my computers these days, so I guess those two cards together just won't play nice. I think I'll try with a cheaper Sound Blaster PCI 128 instead of the Live! Value, that should work just as well for one of the headphones (we're not talking high end sound here...)

Edit: I've just bought a used 5.1 online instead, it came very cheap and the guy could send it today, so it's not worth the effort of changing sound cards on my son's computer (where the PCI 128 is sitting). Then I've got 9 available audio zones in my car (with the three from the built in sound card on the mobo). I need more seats!

mee too

i had the exactly the same problem, when i try to install the 5.1 card. i have 2 cards in (4670 and 4760) and all was working well. but when i change the 4670 to the 5.1 (sb060), the screen will freece (in 98se) or i get a "bsd in w2k" and it means "DRIVER IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL . i think, the problem is only the card, when i change it back, everything is working again.
