Audigy Using kX vs AuzenTech X-FI Prelude 7.1

Hey everyone,

So here's my delimma. I've been a diehard kX Driver fan for years now, using them in combination with my SB Audigy. I just purchased a set of Z-5500's and setting up actual 5.1 surround has been a bit of a pain.

Ideally I'd like to output to my speakers using optical out, something my audigy doesnt have.

I have my eye on the AuzenTech X-FI Prelude card as a possible replacement. I'm worried that I'll set everything up and be dissapointed with the quality of the sound, as compaired with my current audigy/kX solution.

Has anyone compaired the sound quality of an X-Fi card like the Auzentech one, to a card using kX? Like I said, I havent heard anything that outputs crystal clear sound like kX does and I'm worried that it'll be a waste of around $175.

Thanks!

- Paul
