Voices sound very far away
I'm new to the Kx drivers since last week. I've always managed to use my Soundblaster (CT4760) without proper drivers, just for winamp/dvd-playback etc. But since last week I started playing San Andreas, and EAX didn't work.
I downloaded Kxproject and i heared cars, guns etc etc. The problem is that i hear voices very far away. I hear them, but background noises are louder. I played a DVD (David Gilmore) and the guitars, drums etc where clear, but the singing was like the neighbours played them for me .I guess it is a setting, but there are alot of settings and i didn't find any changing anything.... I use a CT4760, with WinXP |

1) kX Does *not* support EAX
2) Make sure 'surrounder' in the kX DSP, speaker setting matches your speaker system. (I am guessing that the CENTER speaker is being utilized, but does not exist in your case, but you didnt specify what kind you have, or how (exactly) you have them connected to your CT4760) Try the Surround Mode ON/OFF (not copy) in surrounder as well. |

Also check the Reverb and Chorus levels on the FX page of kx mixer, the 3DSE setting (if your card has this option) on the AC97 page of kxmixer, and make sure that the "Toggle Swap Front and Rear" setting on the Main page of kxmixer matches how your speakers are connected to the sound card (checked means that front and rear are swapped).

Thank you very much! The surrounder in the DSP solution did the trick! I'm now enjoying sounds again!!
