soundblaster x-fi xtreme audio notebook

Hi all.

Well it has been awhile that i have been on here cause everything has been working really well. But now it is time to upgrade the laptop. Right now I'm using a PCMCIA s/b card and works. But the laptop im looking at now doesn't have a PCMCIA slot it has a PCI-e slot.

So, my question is the obvious one.... Does the Kx driver work with the new express card?

Thanks all

Jonathan

Cool. Do you think one of the express to PCMCIA adapters would work, so I can still use the PCMCIA soundcard I have got?

It's Expresscard slot and it uses PCI-E bus. For Xtreme audio notebook you must have ExpressCard/54 slot. So you are good. You don't need adapters and stuff.. If your new laptop got the ExpressCard/54 slot it should work.

I have seen claims on the internet that they do work with the a2zs notebook (for that matter they are claimed to work with pretty much any PCMCIA cards), so that might be an option for you, if you do not mind the price of the adapter. With the faster bus speed, it *might* even work better...
